The collection contains books, microfilm, and maps. Subscription websites, including Ancestry and AmericanAncestors, are available here too. For an overview of the most important Yankee sources at the LRC, see the Quick Guide on this website. The Yankee Pathfinder is an exclusive guide to more Yankee sources at the LRC; find it shelved near the volunteer desk.

Library Catalog
The Minnesota Genealogical Society (MGS) Catalog is your guide to the library. The LRC has sources for Minnesota, the U.S. and Canada, individual states, and many ethnic groups: English and Welsh, Irish, Norwegian, Czechoslovakian, Polish, Swedish, and more.

Using the Library
Admission to the LRC is free for members of the Minnesota Genealogical Society, the Yankee and other MGS branches, and the MGS affiliates. Non-members are charged $10 per day for library use.

Feel free to browse the library shelves. Computer workstations are available to access subscription and other websites. A volunteer can help you locate books, microfilm, and websites.

The LRC is not a lending library; all resources are for use on-site only. You may bring a laptop; free wi-fi is available, which allows access to the subscription websites from your laptop. Only pencils are allowed; personal possessions must be deposited in a free locker in the lobby. Photocopier and microfilm printer are available for a small cost.

The Yankee Genealogical Society does not have a research service, but members may use the library resources, including subscription websites, whenever the Center is open.
